What do you think being a moderator means (Go in-depth):
(Using the word Staff instead of moderator in some cases)
Becoming a moderator means all sorts of things such as representing the community, staffing the server and maintaining good RP in the server.
Representing the community:
Representing the server as Staff could be in all sorts of way such what I'm going to speak about; on the forums staff will need to be active and play a role in +1 and -1 all types of applications. Staff will also need to keep a sharp eye on comments and the forums chat box to keep all &amp;amp;amp;quot;rule breakers&amp;amp;amp;quot; out of there. This is the same for discord, but Ellie has started to stop bad words. So staff need to remove all discord minges. Overall staff members should keep a professional attitude to the server as how Staff acts reflects onto the communities name.
Staffing the server:
In many cases Staff are essential on the GMod server as many players are minges and break rules, however not all. Being a moderator means you have to staff the server and make sure RP is running smoothly as it should do. For example handing out punishments where needed. It can also mean being active on the server regularly and encouraging players to take the right path, and not to minge.
Maintaining good RP:
Maintaining good RP is also a necessary thing to be doing as a moderator as moderators need to show a good example to players which links back to representing the community. Maintaining good RP also shows the professional like staff team the XYZ community have e.g quick replies to @ messages and deals with them appropriately.
Being a moderator also means to try and play as a player and attempt to engage with the community.
Why do you want to become a moderator (Go in-depth): I would like to become staff as I can do a lot for the community such as be active and bring an experienced staff member to the team. Frequently I join , and I always see minges and or other attempts of making the server run unsmoothly or giving it a bad vibe, I'm not saying your staff does a bad job at handling the server. The server which has been capping it slots recently has needed a few more active staff member. Usually I join early in the morning around 9AM when not many players are so I can grind money and play for long amounts of time which then there is no minges but as the day goes by the player count increases which so the staff count should. I'm always online to see these rule breakers but hardly see the staff working quickly with 40+ players (however I do see them). I believe I can bring good to the server and better staffing, I also enjoy to chat with members of the community . A minor rule break could affect a players view on the server, so I'd make sure to try and change that and I wouldn't want a player to leave because of an incident with another player. I am experienced with the rules, ULX commands and many more server features. I would attempt my best to be on duty to follow the 1 staff on duty per 10 members rule (if that still applies)
Are you aware that as a staff member you will be demoted for using commands off duty and that you will have to give up RP time on the server so that you can take sits help other players: Yes, completely understand. 1 staff on duty per 10 members rule
If you are staff on another server, you are expected to leave those communities. Do you accept this?: Yes. I have already done so
Please answer in as much detail as possible how you would deal with the following scenarios:
Player A joins the server. He switches to a gun dealer job and then runs into the back of spawn. He begins spawning in shipments and putting them inside his inventory. He then switches to thief and begins using the weapons. What do you do:
I would: depending on how new the player is, give them a verbal if new and if they are a more experienced player, I'd issue them with a warn. And repeat till they have reach the warn threshold and the automated system will deal with the punishment Management have set to the threshold.
After you have dealt with player A, player A begins to try and mug players in spawn. Player B, one of the people player A tries to mug, calls a sit and you claim it. What do you do:
I would: kick the player as they have just broken two rules in a very short time period for &amp;quot; No intent to RP efficiently&amp;quot; and apologize for any inconvenience he had caused.
Player A then goes on to run out of spawn and randomly shoot at cars down the road. Multiple players begin calling a sit on player A. What would you do:
I would: (now not sure if kick was to harsh but i'll put what I think, always lessons to learn) If he was to rejoin and cause more issues I'd give him a cooldown/temp ban for 1/2days which would hopefully reform his actions.
During a raid you kill player B. After 2 minutes player B comes back to the location and shoots you leading to you dying. What would you do:
I would: jail him to stop him from going anyway or another punishment would be to warn him for NLR
5.Similarly to last situation, you are being raided and die. You go AFK for a few minutes and miss judge how long you be and return to the situation. A sit is called on you for NLR. What would you do: admit my guilt if I am guilty and apologize to the player that reported me and take any necessary punishment given to me.
You're about to start a bank raid. There are currently 3 sits waiting to be dealt with. What do you do:
I would: depending on how many Staff are on duty, less than 1 per 10 players I would carry on with RP but if staff needed me on even the slightest bit, I'd go on duty and stop RPing as it would be my priority.
7A. Player G is asking for a whitelist to OFC because Player N (his trainer) is having a problem with the whitelist system. At what rank can you take this ticket: I don't know 100% sorry but I'm going to say around the Mod+ rank , but not t-mod as it will be your first rank - I believe there is an NPC that does training now though.
7B. After player G is whitelisted he arrests player I and doesn't read them their rights. Player I then reports player G for Failrp. How do you respond: I would inform them about the IA and tell them to either report it there or to a higher up and link them the PD discord.
Do you understand that asking for your application to be reviewed will result in instant denial? Yes, completely
Remember asking for someone to look at your app can result in immediate denial? Yes, completely
*Personal notes: PS Imma good guy b x
Thank you for applying to become staff on the XYZ network, While the majority of the community response is positive I personally have some concerns surrounding your professionalism and attitude towards work. For that reason you have been unsuccessful and therefore you may apply again at the earliest on the 30/04/2020.
